Rather than rehash what I’ve already wrote about the wines from last night, I thought I’d just post some of the photos of our guests, Steve, Judy, Khaled and the food. For appetizers, we had Shrimp Cocktail, Smoked Salmon Dip, 18-month aged Dutch Gouda and Mimolette Vioux cheeses and marinated olives with water crackers and homemade Semolina Bread. This was complemented by the 2007 Magnificent Wine Riesling and the 2005 Kistler Chardonnay. For the main course we had Teriyaki marinaded Flank Steak with Sautéed Mushrooms, Roasted Carrots and Scalloped Potatoes paired with the 1998 Tre Donne Barolo, a 2006 Robert Foley Claret and a 2005 Greenock Creek Shiraz Seven Acre. We finished with a Fudge Tort and more wine. Khaled also brought over a bottle of his homemade wine to shared and we enjoyed tasting it as well. I’m glad everyone was able to make it and I hope nobody went home hungry.
